Here's where we'll list changes to the site, as well as the catalogs in our possession, but have yet to scan.

December 7, 2008
Yes, it's been nearly a full year without any updates.  That's sort of how it goes for the site, sometimes.  That said, I'm happy to announce two new catalogs to the site:  the 1966 Sears and 1984 Wards.  The 66 Sears has an especially gorgeous cover, and lush photography throughout.

Also, the missing pages from our 1964 Sears Wishbook have been restored, thanks to one of our visitors scanning the pages we needed, and contributing them to the site.

As always, there are many updates coming, though it takes time, and we get to the new additions when we can.  Thanks for stopping by!  And Happy Holidays!

January 10th, 2008

After a year with few updates, WishbookWeb has seen some major changes in the first weeks of 2008.   Thanks largely in part to WishbookWeb co-founder and co-adminstrator, Alainsane, we have many new catalogs hosted on the site.  Our forums have also been repaired and updated, so they will hopefully be secure and usable again.

There's been a lot of interest in the site lately, and that gets all of us here at the WishbookWeb pretty excited.  After all, we hope to share the fruits of our labors with as many people as possible.

We still have many catalogs to be scanned and added to the site, and we have other changes we hope to implement as the year goes on.

Hope to see you back, and Happy New Year!!

February 22nd, 2007

Well, it's been some time since the last update.  The Christmas 2006 holiday has come and went, and January 2007 has already swept us by.  During that time, no new catalogs up on the site.  Just to let you know we've been busy up here, and soon we'll have a little more to see.  The 1982 Sears book will be up soon, as well as the 1964 Sears (albeit missing about 20 pages, which we didn't know about until late in the scanning process).

So it's kind of lame that we've not had any major updates.  It's just been a little intimidating looking at all those pages to scan.  But let me give you an update on the catalogs that we've obtained since the last update, that will eventually make it onto the site.  Once again, this is an updated list of what we have on hand, waiting to be scanned.

I'm happy to say we've been able to obtain ELEVEN Sears Christmas catalogs between 1940 and 1964.   Years we previously were very light on.  So here's the total list:

November 29th, 2006

Today the 1944 Wards Christmas catalog has been added to the site, once again courtesy of our co-founder Alainsane.  It's a beautiful issue with some ghostly beautiful doll shots (check 'em out).  Also, the addition of the 1964 Sears book is probably going to miss the December 1st deadline, but should be up by the following week.

And we've had a couple big Ebay wins lately.  A 1940 Sears Christmas Wishbook AND a 1943 Sears Christmas Wishbook, so we're rounding out the 1940's very well.  HOPEFULLY those two will be up on the site before this Christmas, but we'll see.  Next - we've got to take on the difficult-to-get 1950's Sears issues.

Finally, we hope to have our links page up-and-running by the end of this week.  And that's all for now.

November 8th, 2006

First, we've added the 1983 and 1985 Sears Wishbooks the site today, courtesy of our co-founder Alainsane!  It's great to add two new catalogs (over 1,000 new pages) and it's nice to finally have the awesome 80's represented on the site.

Secondly, I just won a 1964 Sears Wishbook on Ebay, and I hope to have that on the site before December 1st.

And a bit of a bummer, I had been waiting on a 1969 Sears Wishbook that I purchased on Ebay and after repeated attempts to get delivery of it, the matter has now been turned over to PayPal as a claim.  So I'm back to needing a 69 Wishbook.
