HOW TO ORDER
We always urge our customers to Shop Early and Mail Early to avoid the last
minute rush at Christmas. Shop through this Christmas Book, your Sears Fall
and Winter General Catalog, and Sears Midseason Fall Book now. List all the
things you want on the enclosed order blank. However, if you don't have a
Sears order blank handy any plain paper will do.
Simply print or write plainly your full name, complete address, including rural
route and box number if you live on a rural route. Give us the catalog number,
quantity, name of each item, color, size, price, shipping weight, and any special
information or measurements asked for in the description of the item you are
ordering. Then add the shipping weights of items you are ordering, and change
ounces to full pounds (16 ounces to the pound).
·
Refer to parcel post rates on page 246 for amount to include for postage as we
must pay postage on parcel post packages before we can ship your merchandise.
If
you send too much, every cent extra will be promptly returned to you. You
pay only the exact postage needed to ship your order.
The best ways to send money are by U. S. postal notes, post office or express
money order, or by bank draft or check. Your mail carrier will be glad to buy a
post office money order for you if you live on a rural route. You can a lso obtain a
money order at your post office or from local express agent.
U. S. POSTAL NOTES
U.S. Postal Notes are a convenient and economical way to send money by mail.
They can be purchased at post offices in any denomination up to $10 for only 5
cents per note. However, you can buy as inany notes as you want at one
time.
For instance, if you want to send Sears SI 5.83 to cover the cost of goods and
postage, you would buy a $1 Onote and a $5.83 note, which would cost you 10 cents
for both. When using Postal Notes to send money to Sears, write "Sears, Roebuck
and Co." on the line indicated for name of payee on the face side, and your name
and address on the back-then enclose with your order.
POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER CHARGES
The post office makes the following charges for Money Orders, regardless of where
they are purchased. For amounts above $100, purchase additional Money
Orders a t the same charges shown below.

Unless there is real need for C.O .D. service, we urge you to enclose postal note,
money order or check when you mail your orders and avoid the extra handling
and expense of C.0.D. orders. On parcel post C.O.D. shipments, in addition
to the price of the merchandise and regular parcel post charges, we will bill you
for the C.O.D. collection fee which we are required to pay the post office. The
post office also collects a money order fee for forwarding the total amount to us.
We believe very few of our customers will want to order C.O.D. because of the
extra cost. However, when you need the fastest possible service regardless of cost
to you-
for example on emergency orders for repair parts-we will ship C.O.D .
\Ve do not accept C.O.D. orders: For less than $2.00 (except orders for repair
parts); for merchandise that is cut, engraved, printed or made to special order;
for items that are shipped direct from one of our factories or sources; or for
shipment to foreign countries.

savings-that's why they continue to buy from Sears.
We sen our General Catalog and our special catalogs without request to cus–

one of our catalog order offices.
To be sure that all of your orders will be correctly credited to you so that, as a
regular customer, you will automatically receive Sears catalogs, we suggest that
all members of the same family order under one name, preferably that of the
head of the household-and that this name be written the same way each time
yo"1 order-
for example "John T . Jones" (always using full name). This also
helps us to give you faster and more efficient service.

merchandise as faithfully as is possible with modern high speed printing equip–
ment. Naturally in the process of reproduction some of the printed colors may
vary slightly in shade from the actual colors of the merchandise. In such cases
as with everything we sell, we guarantee your complete satisfaction or your money
