How to Measure for Girls and Teens
Children grow so rapidly that it is important to measure
carefully each time you order.
If
measurements come be–
tween two sizes, order larger size. Remember her age
doesn't tell you what size your child wears.' Recheck
measurements each time you order.
Measure Chest or Bust around body at fullest part of chest
or bust. Hold tape snugly, well up over shoulder blades.
Measure Height-Have child remove shoes and stand nat–
urally against wall. Make mark level with top of head.
Measure from this point to floor.
Measure Hips in straight line around body at fullest part
of hips (about 7 inches below waist).
Measure Waist around smallest part at natural waistline.
How_to Measure for Women
If
hip and waist measurements are between two sizes, order
size nearest these two measurements. Waist and hip sizes
are the most important. Hold tape firm but not tight.
Measure Around Hips at fullest part. This
is
an important
measurement.
Measure Waist around smallest part at natural waistline.
Measure Bust around body at fullest part of bust. Do not
let tape slide down shoulder blades in back.
Measure Length from "bump" at back of neck to waist and
on down to hem.
How to Measure for Men
Have someone else take your measurements
if
possible.
In
the catalog description of each garment, we tell you the
measurements we need to fit you properly. Send us these
exact body measurements. Make no extra allowances.
Measure Chest close up under arms, snug but not tight,
with tape over shoulder blades. Measure over vest for suits;
over shirt for sport and leisure coats, raincoats.
Measure Waist over trousers with belt off. Or take trousers
that fit and measure around buttoned waistband.
Measure Inseam from close up in crotch to bottom of
trousers at length desired.

siz~,
not ·by child's age, since children of the same age vary
greatly in size. MEASURE CHILD EACH TIME YOU ORDER to insure
correct.fit. Measure height without shoes. Measure chest around body
over shirt under arms and over tips of shoulder blades. Measure waist

Women's, Misses' Rubber Footwear
Determine correct heel size this way: Place heel of shoe

all points will give you correct heel height. After you've
learned your heel height, be sure to follow carefully the
ordering instructions included in the description of the
rubber footwear style you want to order. This will save
time, inconvenience, and irritating delays and you will
receive the style you order in the size that fits your shoe.
1. Tell us shoe size (length and width) if known. For men and women only-not for children. (For children
use 4-Point Measuring System each time you order.) Make sure that shoes you order are sold in your par–
ticular size and width (see catalog description).
If
you have worn a particular size or type of shoe comfort–
ably, you will find it satisfactory to order the same size in your new Sears shoes.

as dashes sometimes indicate half sizes.
or 3. Use Sears scientific 4-Point Measuring System. For men, women, older boys, girls, and children•.. Use a
piece of blank paper large enough to fit under your foot and an ordinary kitchen knife and pencil. Sit on a
chair and let foot that gives you the most trouble rest naturally and without moving on piece of piiper as
