Packages weighing up to 70 pounds and
, measuring not more than 100 inches in
combined length and girth can be sent by
Parcel Post in all parcel post zones, except
when mailed at a first class post office and
addressed for city delivery to another first class post office.
Parcel Post weight limits on packages mailed between first class post offices and
addressed for city delivery, are 40 pounds to the Local, 1st and 2nd Zones; and
20 pounds to Zones 3 to 8. The size limit is 72 inches length and girth combined.
Figure postage on total weight of order
The shipping weight of each article is given in the catalog description. When
you write your order add the pounds and ounces and change ounces into full
pounds (16 ounces to a pound}. Then show the total weight in pounds. When
figuring postage on packages weighing more than one pound, the post office
counts a fraction of a pound as a full pound and charges postage accordingly.
Consult the parcel post rate table at right (or the correct amount to include in
your remittance for postage.
If you don't know what parcel post zone you are in, refer to table at right or
ask your mail carrier or postmaster.
Please send enough money for postage
enough money in the remittance with your order to pay the postage as
we must pay postage on parcel post packages before we can send your merchan–
dise. Don't worry about sending more than the correct amount. If you send us
too much, every cent extra will be promptly returned to you. You pay only the exact
postage needed for your order.

Air parcel post is available on any package that can be shipped by regular
parcel post, at the following rates:

It's Easy to Estimate. Freight Rates to Your Station
Freight rafM are based on distance and are the same, regardless of who ships the mer·
chandise. If there is a freight rate agent at your station you pay freight charges when ship–
ment is received. If there is no freight agent, include additional money with your order
to cover freight charges. If you send too much, we wiU return the difference. Freight
shipments of 100 pounds 01 less take the lOO·pound rate; charges on shipments over 100
pounds are based on actual weight. The minimum freight charge made by railroads Is
$1.63. Minimum charge by truck may in some instances slightly exceed the hundred
pound rate. ~
In addition to the rates below, transportation companies are also required to collect
a Federal tax of 3% on their charges.

dise. Do not send money for express charges with your
order as they can be paid on delivery. The minimum
charge for any express shipment is When figuring
charges add 3 3 Federal tax for each shipment. Example:
If your order weighs 30 pounds and you live about 200
miles from shipping point, the charge would be Sl.99.
Add 3% (6c) Federal tax making the approximate total
charge S2.05.
