What "CHARGE-IT'' Means:

to your Penneys Charge Account.

easy catalog shopping-we figure sales

taxes and postage for you.

It's easy to open a Penneys Charge Account Simply fill out the

application on the back of the order form (pages 244 or 246), then

read and sign the Charge Account Agreement that's printed on page

247. Mail the signed agreement and the application to us at the ad–

dress given on page 240. Be sure to keep the Customer's Copy for

your records. You'll receive your permanent Penneys Charge Card

by mail. Turn back to page 249 for information about Penneys

convenient Time Payment Account.

YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR GOAL

EVERYTHING you buy at Penneys is GUAR–

ANTEED. When you receive your purchase,

examine it carefully. If it does not meet

your expectations, return it to us and ex–

plain what is wrong. We will exchange it if

you wish-or we will refund your money

(or credit your account) including any

tranportation charges you have paid.

SPECIFIC GUARANTEES. Some of your most

important purchases from Penneys are cov–

ered by our own specific guarantees that

protect you from basic defects in the mer–

chandise and from failure in use. These

specific guarantees are fully stated where

the item is described. Read the guarantee

that covers the item you buy-and buy

with confidence!

REGULAR GUARANTEE. If your purchase

from Penneys does not carry a specific

Penneys guarantee, it is covered by this

regular guarantee: AFTER YOU HAVE USED

YOUR PURCHASE, if it does not live up to

everything we have promised for it, or if it

does not give you the service you expect

during the normal life of the item, please

let us know the facts in the matter. Return

the item if that is convenient-if it isn't

just say so and we will advise you what to

do. We will make a proper adjustment in

cash, credit, merchandise, or repair of the

item. Whichever it is, you can count on us

to do what is right and reasonable.

AT ANY TIME ... if you have any problem

with merchandise you bought from Pen–

neys, and our guarantees do not take care

of the matter to your satisfaction, tell us
