3 Ways to Buy at Spiegel

Cash - Charge - and Monthly Payments

C'\AJhen you open a Spiegel Account you automatically become a member of the

Spiegel Budget Power Plan which allows you to use the charge account and the

Monthly Payment Plan. We reserve the right to acce·pt or reject any application,–

to restrict or limit any order or to terminate any account in accordance with our

credit standards.

Terms Change Effective July 1, 1972

If

your account was opened before July 1, 1972 and you

continued to buy and have an outstanding balance each

month, you may continue using your present low monthly

payment terms. However, should you pay up your account

your subsequent orders would

be

subject to our new,

modified monthly payment plan. New accounts opened

after July 1, 1972 are also subject to the modified terms.

To Open an Account-NoMoney Down

Just fill

in

application on back of order blank when you

send your order. Credit orders must be for $10 or more.

To Add On an Order

Anytime your balance is less than the full amount of your

Credit Trust Fund you can send another order for the

difference. Simply add the amount of your new order to

your present balance and figure your monthly payment on

the total.

If

you send a payment with your order deduct

that amount before figuring your payment.

To Place a Charge Account Order

Write your order in the usual way and check the Charge

Plan on the Order Blank. There is no down payment and if

the balance is paid in full, within 25 days of statement

date, there

will

be no finance charge. Charge orders must

be for $10 or more.

To Order for Cash

Please send check or money order (no stamps or COD) to

cover cost of merchandise, plus shipping and handling

charge and tax, if any. Over payments are refunded.

No Bookkeeping for You

We send you a personalized statement each month. This

provides an accurate record of all Budget Power trans–

actions. Purchases, payments, refunds, returns, exchanges

as well as insurance premium (if you wish this protection)

and finance charges . . . all are clearly shown to give you

an accurate record of your account. Shipping/handling

charges as well as tax, if any, are computed for you and

included in your account.

Peace of Mind

As a member of the Budget Power Plan you are eligible for

Spiegel Group Credit Life Insurance. (Acceptance of this

insurance is not a factor in the extension of credit). This

protection covers you and your spouse in the event of

death from any cause, on your Spiegel balance up to a

$2500 limit. The charge amounts to only .00165 of your

beginning monthly balance (which, for example, is only

y

¢

for a balance of $100). This coverage is made avail–

able under a policy issued by the Guaranty Life Insurance

Company of America. (Customers insured under the for–

mer plan are covered as outlined in their certificate). There

is no medical exam, no age limit, no red tape. A certificate

setting

forth

the provisions of the insurance is sent to

you. You may terminate this insurance at anytime. We

offer this valuable protection to enable you to use all

the credit available to you with complete peace of mind.

The FINANCE CHARGE is computed by a "pen–

odic rate" of 1.65% which is an ANNUAL PER–

CENTAGE RATE OF 19.8

%

(minimum 50¢ monthly

on balances under $30.30) applied to the average daily

balance which is the average of the daily amounts out–

standing on your account, and includes the charges.

payments and credits posted during the month. Under

the average daily balance method, the earlier install–

ment payments are received during a monthly billing

period, the lower the finance charge will

be

for that

period. There is no finance charge if your first state–

ment is paid in full, within 25 days of the statement

date. Similarly, if on any subsequent statement your

New Balance is paid in full within 25 days of that

statement date, there will

be

no further finance charge.

Of course, you have the right to pay up your account

at any time and save additional finance charges.
