Delivery Information

CATALOG DEPARTMENT SERVICE

Whenyou orderby phone,or inperson, you can arrange to pick up your order at aCatalog

Department near you. Your order will be ready a few days after you place it. You can

pay

cash (or charge 1t} when you come to pick your order up. Orders picked up at a Catalog

Department are not sub1ect to the delivery class restrictions noted in the item descriptions.

HOME DELIVERY SERVICE

When you order by phone, and use your JCPenney, Visa card or (after Oct. 1st) Master–

Card, you can have your order delivered to your home. When you order in person, you

can pay cash .in advance (or charge it}, and have your order delivered to your home.

When you order by mail, most orders are sent to your home-we:ll contact you about

heavier, larger items. Phone, in person, and mail customers-read delivery information

below for the class of merchandise you want to order. Mail Order Credit Customers: We

figure tax and transportation-and-handling charge for you and add them to your account.

Mail Order Cash Customers: For Class A items {and Class B items sent to 2nd, 3rd. and

4th Class Post Office areas) please include transportation-and-handling charge {see

chart at right) and taxes {see Taxes below} with your order.Any extra money you send will

be refunded in full.

Delivery Class A {"Delivery Weight") items are delivered by United Parcel Service {by

Parcel Post in Alaska, Hawa11, and parts of Wisconsin). See chart at right to estimate

transportation-and-handling charge for items sent to your home. Some Class A items

require a 15-lb. rate-this will be noted in the item description.

items are delivered by Parcel Post 1n areas served by 2nd. 3rd, and 4th

Class Post Offices. See chart at right for transportation-and-handling charges. In areas

served by a 1st Class P.O., these items are sent by truck-see pages 810-811 in our Fall

'80 Catalog for rates.

Delivery Class C items are delivered by truck 1n all areas. See pages 808-811 in our Fall

'80 Catalog for details and rates.

to an A.P.O. or F.P.O. address. ser1d your Order Blank to the Distribu1ion Center that

serves your own zip code {see chart at left). If you are in the military services with an

SAM {Space Available Mail) carries packages by air transport at rates shown in Chart

above.Parcel must weight 15

PARCEL POST- Parcel must weight 30 lbs. or less and not exceed 60 inches in

length and girth. Items designa1ed Delivery Class A or Bin the catalog can be sent by

United States Postal Service (Parcel Pos1) in most cases, but items that are Delivery

Class C cannot. Check with local Postmaster for specific A.P.O. and F.P.O. excep–

tions. For Christmas Delivery, orders must reach us by October 29.

IMPORTANT: We always send orders by SAM whenever package size and weight

permit. Packages exceeding the limitations are sent by Parcel Post, subject to trans–

por1ation-and-handling charge shown in chart above. Tell us when you want them

sent PAL.

How to Return Merchandise

Merchandise may be returned to any JCPenney Catalog Department for refund or

credit ... or to the address at left that services your slate.

For refunds, exchanges, or damage In transit-

also for adjustments under warranties.

WHEN YOU RETURN MERCHANDISE, we make an appropriate adjustment for

the transportation-and-handling charge.

Important: Each Home Delivery order shipped includes a "Return or Exchange

Form" as part of your invoice. lo be filled out in case you need to return apurchase. (If

form has been mislaid, list the items on a piece of paper with your name, address,

customer number, and approximate date of purchase of each item and include !he

information with your return.)

Damage In Transit

If merchandise delivered by UPS or Parcel Post is damaged on

arrival.do

the driver. Instead, fill out the "Return or Exchange Form" and send 1t to us_ in the

package of merchandise you are returning .

If any Delivery Class C merchandise ts damaged on arrival, get an Inspection

Report from the delivery driver and have him take the package back. {If you discover

the damage after the delivery driver has gone, notify the transportation company: they

will come for the package and give you the Inspection Report.) Send us the Inspection

Report, the paid transportation bill {if any}, and a copy of your invoice. including the

filled-in " Return or Exchange Form."

Regular Exchange Or Refund

1.

If

you are returning merchandise for any reason other than damage 1n transit, and

the order is Delivery Class A,simply fill out the "Re1urn or Exchange Form" and send 11

to us in the package of merchandise which you are returning. Send to the address

given for your state, see at left.

2. If the merchandise 1s Delivery Class C write us first for instructions. Fill ou1 the

"Return or Exchange Form" and give us the details regarding your return. Upon

receiving your correspondence, we will tell you how and where to return the

merchandise.
