REGARDING OUR CATALOG PRICES
Following the policy in effect since our founding in 1886. prices quoted in
Sears catalogs do not include (unless stated otherwise) charges for handling
and shipping of goods from our Catalog Merchandise Distribution Center to a
Sears catalog selling unit for pick-up. or for delivery to your home. The ship–
ping and handling charges may differ depending on method of shippin9. Infor–
mation on how shipping weights are determined and details on shipping and
handling charges for shipping by USPS/UPS or non-Sears truck can be ob–
tained from the yellow customer information pages of our Big Book. Specific
details on charges for handling and shipping to a Sears catalog selling unit for
pick-up or redelivery (1f available) can be obtained from the unit. either at the
counter or over the phone.
Prices in this catalog apply only to orders placed by mail. telephone. telegraph
or placed in person at a Sears Catalog Sales Store. an Authorized Catalog Sales
Merchant. a CataloQ Sales Department in a Retail Store. a Retail Catalog and
Appliance Store or in a Sears Affiliated Store. Comparative pricing statements
made in this catalog refer only to prices on merchandise offered nationwide
through our own catalogs. Catalog merchandise prices and assortments may
vary from those in our Retail Stores and between regional editions of a catalog.
ABOUT OUT-OF-STOCK MERCHANDISE
We make every effort to stock quantities of merchandise which we anticipate
will be sufficient to fill orders until the expiration of this catalog. Since this
catalog had to be prepared long before it reached you. and unexpected cir–
cumstances beyond our control can occur between preparation and expiration.
occasionally an item you order may not be available when you order it If an
item you order should happen to
be
out-of-stock. here's what we'll do:
1. We will notify you as promptly as possible about the out-of-stock
situation and give you our best information as to when a new sup–
ply is expected. If we don't anticipate being able to fill your order

the item when it is again available. Naturally. if you tell us yes. we
will charge you no more than the price in effect when you original–
ly ordered.
2. At times we may send you an appropriate substitute item of equal
or better value at the same price as your ori!linal order so that we
may serve you faster. If the item is not satisfactory. you may of
course. return it for a full refund. including shipping and handling
charges.
3. If an appropriate substitute for the out-of-stock item is not available
and it appears that additional stock cannot be obtained from our
supplier. our only alternative is to cancel your order and provide a
full refund.
We are constantly working to avoid any out-of-stocks. and we sincerely regret
any s1tuat1on. however occasional. where circumstances prevent us from meet–
ing our goal.
COMMERCIAL QUANTITY ORDERS
The merchandise offered in all Sears catalogs 1s stocked in quantities intended
to accommodate only individual or family needs. Therefore. we reserve the
right to limit quantities in order to properly serve all of our customers. For

C.O.D. orders are accepted only for merchandise sent from a Catalog Merchan–
dise Distribution Center to a Sears Unit. You may then pick up
your
order or
arrange with your Sears unit for redelivery to your home (if available). If you
request that your order be sent directly to you via USPS/UPS or non-Sears truck.
you must include a money order. check or use your Sears Credit Account.
We do not ship C.O.D. orders for merchandise cut. engraved. printed or made
to order. for merchandise shipped direct from factory or shipped to foreign coun–
tries or to anyone other than the person sending the order.
SHIPPING INFORMATION:
"N", "NH" suffix (such as 9-1234N) means that this item. if shipped directly to
your home. is sent by motor-carrier. (See non-Sears truck information pages in
our Big Boole.) If you prefer. pickup your order at a Sears Catalog Selling Unit
. . . ask about pickup charges. Home delivery through a Sears unit may also be
available. please inquire.
Parts of your order may be shipped from points other than your distribution
center and may therefore arrive separately at different times.
UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (USPS)/
UNITED PARCEL SERVICE (UPS) SHIPPING INFORMATION
Service and parcel size restrictions limit our use of both the United States Postal
Service (USPS) and United Parcel Service (UPS). For parcels qualifying for either
USPS or UPS shipping. Sears will determine which method to use. With either
shipping system. the table of Sears Shipping and Handling Charges for orders
shipped by USPS/UPS applies.
USPS Restrictions-If you are served by a First Class Post Office (check with
your Postmaster or Carrier). the parcel maximum weight is 40 pounds and may
not exceed 84 inches-length and girth combined. All other Post Offices may
deliver parcels up to 70 pounds-not exceeding 100 in. length and girth com–
bined. "L" suffix items (as 3-64 800L) cannot be shipped by USPS to a First Class
Post Office for city delivery. To other Post Offices. "L" items weighing less than
15 pounds but measuring over 84 inches are charged at the 15 pound rate to
your zone.

UPS Restrictions-The parcel maximum wei9ht is 50 pounds and the maxi–
mum size is 1OB inches-length and girth combined. This method of shipping is
not available to P.O. Box addresses. nor is it available on shipments within certain
states.
To determine shipping and handling charges for USPS/UPS parcels. first
find your Parcel Zone in the table below. Next. add the weights of the items that
do not have a "C" or "L" in the suffix and find the charge for the total weight in
the table below for your Parcel Zone. Figure separate charges for the weight of
each item with a " C" or "L" in the suffix since each must be shipped separately.
On cash orders include enough money for shipping and handling with your
order since we must prepay parcels.
On Credit Orders. Sears computes charges and adds them to your account.
