About the artist: Rupert was bom
in South Tyrol, Italy in 1908, the
son of
a
carpenter. At an early
age, he was apprenticed to
famous caNer, Romed
Speckbacher, to whom he
remained
a
faithful craftsman for
20 yeais. During this time he also
studied drawing and modeling at
the "Staatsgewerbeschule" in
Innsbruck and trained
in Nuremberg.
Today Rupert works from the
carpenter's bench in his own
home, still working from morning
'ti/ night to create some of the
most beautiful and touching
wood caNings in the world.
This particular Reindl collection
was created for LEPI of Italy
where it is handcrafted and hand
painted by master artisans.
