About Regular Charge

Everything we offer in our catalogs and stores can be bought on
regular charge.
2.
You don't have to worry about having cash on hand, writing checks
or money orders. No bother about figuring taxes or the transportation–
and-handling charge-we do it for you. Any refund for a return can be
easily credited to your account.

Recordkeeping is simple

Our once-a-month statements are
complete. permanent records of your purchase.

Pay no finance charge if your account balance is paid in full before
the payment due date. If you choose, you may extend your payments
over several months and incur finance charges. See the Retail
Installment Credit Agreement (Revolving Credit Agreement) at right for
the terms which apply to JCPenney Credit Accounts.
About Major Purchase Charge
1.
There is a minimum purchase requirement of $200. (Individual items
need not cost $200, but the total of all items purchased on any single
sales transaction must be $200.)
2.
You get all the easy-to-use features, 2-4, listed above under "About
Regular Charge"
3.
You don't have to finish payments on your first purchase before you
buy again if you have available credit.
4.
You can count on payments that stay the same each month unless
you add on purchases toa new "highest balance".
5.
Payments can be stretched over a longer period of time.

Credit Account
Read the following Retail Installment Credit
Agreement (Revolving Credit Agreement) thoroughly,
and sign on page 380. Keep pages 378 to 380 for
your records.
Then complete the application on page 381 and sign
it. This verifies that you've read the Revolving Credit
Agreement below and that the information you've
supplied on the JCPenney Credit Account Application
is accurate. Please print and use a ball point pen (not
a felt-tip) when you fill out the application. Mail the
application to the Atlanta or Milwaukee Distribution
Center, c/o New Accounts Department. For
appropriate address, see page 375.
If you live in Puerto Rico, the following Credit
~
Agreement does not apply to you. Visit your local
JCPenney store for the correct Credit Agreement.
Your JCPenney Retail Installment
Credit Agreement (Revolving
Credit Agreement)
This agreement does not apply to customers whose accounts will be bil–
led by JCPenney's Credit Office in Puerto Rico.
In this agreement,
you

mean anyone who has applied for and
been accepted for a JCPenney Credit Account.
We, us,
and
our
mean
the J.C. Penney Company, Inc., 14841 North Dallas Parkway, Dallas,
Texas 75240-6760.
Credit Bureau Reports-
To check the information on your application,
we may get a report about you from a credit bureau. When you have an
account, we may get a credit report to update our records or to decide
whether to give you additional credit. Ask us and we will tell you if we
requested a credit report and give you the name and address of the
credit bureau.
Types of Charges-
The purchase of any merchandise or service may
be added to your account as a Regular Charge. Certain merchandise
(identified in our stores and catalogs) may be added to your account as a
Major Purchase Charge.
Promise to
Pay-You agree to pay for all authorized charges to your
account as well as any charges from which you receive a benefit.
Payment Requirements-When
you have a balance, you agree to pay
at least the minimum payment amount due each month.
You can pay
your entire balance at any time.
Your required payment may include
any past due amounts, late charges, and returned check fees. Your
required payment may also include any insurance premiums if your pol–
icy is billed with your account.
Failure to Pay- If
you do not pay on time, we can require that you make
immediate payment of your entire balance unless you have rights by
state law to correct your non-payment.
We may use an outside attorney to collect your account. If there is a law–
suit and you lose, you agree to pay reasonable attorney's fees, plus court
costs, as permitted by the law in your state.
Annual Fee-
There is no annual fee on your JCPenney Credit Account.
Grace Period-You
do not pay any finance charge if there is no pre–
vious balance or if credits and payments made within 25 days of the cur–
rent billing date equal the balance at the beginning of the period.
Finance
Charge-Finance charge not in excess of that permitted by
law will be assessed on the outstanding balance(s) from month to month.
