How to return merchandise

ALL MERCHANDISE should be returned to one of the addresses

given below, depending on which state you live in. Some states

have been split in half. Check the first three numbers of your zip

code to find out which address services the half you live in.

back of a postcard-(only one to a household, please). The front

of the card should be addressed as follows:

When we receive the card, we'll send a current Penneys Catalog.

For refunds, exchanges, or damage in transit–

also for adjustments on specially guaranteed

or warranted merchandise

IMPORTANT: Each order shipped includes a "Return or Exchange

Form" as part of your invoice, to be filled out in case you need to

return a purchase. (If form has been mislaid, ask us for one in a

letter mailed to address given at left.)

Damage In Transit

1. If merchandise worth less than $100 was damaged in the mail,

fill out "Return or Exchange Form" and send it to us along with the

merchandise.

2. If merchandise worth more than $100 was damaged in the mail,

it has been insured by us;therefore you must file a claim with your

local post office. Then fill out the "Return or Exchange Form"

(including the insurance claim number) and send it to us along

with the merchandise.

If merchandise delivered by REA-Express or Truck is damaged

on arrival, get an Inspection Report from the driver and have him

take the package back. (If you discover the damage after the de–

livery driver has gone, notify the transportation company; they

will come for the package and give you the Inspection Report.)

Send us the Inspection Report, the paid transportation bill, and a

copy of your invoice, including the filled-in "Return or Exchange

Form."

Regular Exchange or Refund

If you are returning merchandise for any reason other than dam–

age in transit (regardless of how it was shipped or the value of the

item). simply fill out the "Return or Exchange Form" and send it

to us, along with the merchandise, to the address given for your

state at left.

Shipping charges on returned merchandise

will

be refunded.
