The Officer and the Gentleman: detailed, ornate replicas of
two important Remington hand
guns
of the 1800's.
The full-size, Model 1858 Remington Army Revolver experienced
battle as well as frontier use. Fbrtunate, indeed, was the officer
who had this superior .44-caliber field piece at his side.
The traveling gentleman of that period carried the compact,
Remington on his river or overland trips. The lightweight, .31-
caliber five-shot revolver could be easily concealed in a pocket or
cuff and was most valuable in close-range situations.
Both the Officer and the Gentleman commemmorate the men they
served and their place in history. The Officer has an t:l-inch
octagonal barrel, fires 6 rounds, and
is
nickel and gold plated. The
Gentleman has a 4-inch octagonal barrel, fires 5 rounds, and also
is
nickel and gold-plated. Set includes both finished handguns
packed in a velvet-lined rose-wood display case.
