One of the world's oldest and most fascinating
games, Kalah can be played by all age groups.
Equal amounts of stone "counters" are placed
in each pit at the game's beginning, the number
depending upon
the time available and age
of players. Each player controls a row of 6 pits
on his side. Players by turn empty their pits,
distributing counters one by one in successive
pits as far as they go. Object of game is to
have the most counters in one's own Kalah, or
end pit, at the end of the game, which is term–

actually rolls right up the two steel rods, then
drops into cup for score. The higher scores are
obtained by manipulating rods to cause ball to
roll up the
greatest distance before dropping
into cup. Seven numerically graduated scoring

requires patience and perseverance but it's fas–
